Are you afraid of artificial intelligence? It can even paint!

AI a umění

Recently, a few people have asked me if I'm not afraid of artificial intelligence, that it can even paint pictures, that you just have to tell it and that's it.

"I've thought about it for a while and I have to say honestly that I'm not afraid. I don't entrust my creativity and creative power to its, I don't look for shortcuts and I have more than enough inspiration."

If I take it generally, then all machines are better than humans - cars drive faster, excavators dig faster, pumps pump faster... AI can write a book, compose a song and who knows what else faster than a human, but the keys to all machines are owned by a human and it's just up to each of us how we let them come to our bodies and what work we give them.

For me personally, and I believe that for all honestly creative people, the most important thing is the process of creation itself, nowadays it is called flow – it is a state when you do not perceive time, you do not think about what you have not done, it is like driving a black ski slope at full speed and you have to concentrate 100% on being present or you're rolling in a snowdrift.
I will never give up that delightful process of creation, where I can connect to something refreshing that moves me forward with the painting. I don't need artificial intelligence, universal intelligence is enough for me, which has a much deeper dimension for me. Various sketches and drawings are also part of the creation process, so I can get in tune with the painted subject and work it out before I take the canvas and oil paints. It is similar to starting to build a house without a project, which was preceded by a lot of architectural sketches and drawings.

Art is supposed to elevate and radiate energy that only a person is able to imprint into it. If we get carried away and hand over our creativity to machines, we will become whiny, superficial creatures.
